🌿The Heart Behind the Soap🌿
🌿 Meet Emily: Founder of Blind River Soap

Raised in St. James Parish, Louisiana—where the land hums with tradition and the water carries memory—Emily grew up where earth and river meet. Summers at Girl Scout camp taught her honesty, respect, and responsibility. But even earlier, she was a child stirring mud pies and dreaming of being a “rock doctor,” fascinated by how the earth creates its own treasures.
She learned to fish with her father on the Blind River—a place that would become not just a memory, but a metaphor for her life. Like the river, Emily is ever‑changing. She flows with grace when she can, and carves her own path when she must.
Her love of nature grew into a calling: working in garden centers, becoming a licensed horticulturist, and seeing plants not just as beauty, but as teachers. Their scent, movement, color, flavor, and texture speak to all five senses—and to the power of presence. Soapmaking became a natural extension of that love: a way to turn the gifts of the earth into small, everyday rituals of care.
Blind River Soap is more than a business—it’s a practice in appreciation. And at its heart is Alizé, the brand’s wise and whimsical spokes‑alligator, who carries Emily’s voice: compassionate, grounded, and full of quiet truths. Alizé reminds us that small rituals can offer big healing, and that loving yourself is never selfish.
As she continues her journey, Emily hopes to pass down more than bars of soap—she hopes to inspire a life steeped in wonder, kindness, and respect for the earth. A reminder that beauty is born from connection, and that everything, in time, comes full circle.
