Mississippi Driftwood is named for my daddy — a boy raised on the Mississippi River, barefoot and sun‑browned, fishing rod in one hand and his black lab Chopper never far behind. He grew up beach‑combing the banks of the Mississippi, hunting for “odds ’n ends” like they were treasure. Once he found a five‑dollar bill floating in the water, and his daddy almost whooped him thinking he stole it — but that’s the river for you. She gives gifts when she feels like it.

He’s in his seventies now, but he’s still out there collecting driftwood, smoothing it, shaping it, turning it on the lathe. He makes little cypress Cajun cabins and treasure boxes too. His favorite wood has always been cedar — bright red, sweet‑smelling, soft under the blade. So that’s what I put in this bar. Cedarwood for his hands. Frankincense for the ebb-and-flow magic of the riverbanks he grew up on. A touch of smoke and earth for the stories he still carries.

This soap is the scent of the river he never outgrew — steady, warm, and full of heart. A bar for the boy he was, the man he became, and the childhood he’s kept alive all these years.
